Single Mother

A friend of mine is also a teacher. She became a single mother with a daughter and two sons.

Even though she’s a single mother, she really work hard and take care of her children to the best of her ability. She is charming, slim, sexy, well-dressed and well-liked by many of the opposite sex. They try their luck to win her heart. Woo her out. Sometimes she went out with her male friends for dinner, lunch or movie.

Her two boys didn’t care much of what happen in their mother’s personal life. Somehow the girl was very much disturbed. She always complained about her mother to me.

I asked her what she really wants from her mother or what she wanted her mother to be.

“Why can’t my mother be like any other mother. Be on the plump side, dress like a mother, wear baggy dresses, no make up or just a brush of lipstick. Go to school, teach and then be home, cook, be with us and don’t go out with man.”

When I looked at her daughter, I can see that the mother really take good care of her. The daughter was complaining out of spite (I think). In order to let go of herself an as a means of escapism she eat a lot and became fat. Behaved like a tomboy, go against her mother's words and most of all she gave her mother a lot of headache by misbehaving.

She was caught shoplifting in the supermarket. She played truant. She sold off her mother’s jewelleries. One day, she was caught by the police for trying to rob a shop with two of her friends. Her mother refused to bail her out. She was then sent to arehabilitation center for girls.

Once out, she just couldn't be bothered about her mother and vice versa. I asked from my friend and she just told me that she just couldn’t be bothered about her daughter anymore for all the misbehaviour she had done.

My friend was recently married and happy with her new family. Her daughter was also married, working at a local service establishment with two kids. But financially they are not getting enough. The household income is just enough to get by. She often quarrel with her husband and recently she is in the process of getting a divorce.

Sometimes the world is just not being fair.

But who am I to judge.

Bye and see you soon.
