Who Is At Fault?

Aikon (not his real name) is a very good boy , polite , jovial and academically above average.

He stays with his mother and father. His mother is a food-stall owner earning about RM50.00 a day from the sales. His father is a taxi driver. They rented a house.

He continued his education in a government college. He failed and dropped out of college.

Reason:

His father fall in love with a woman half his age. His mother stop running the stall due to diabetic related illness. He got to take care of his mother.

Anyway, he got a job in a bank, earning about RM1,500 a month. This is just enough to get him and his mother by.

One day an ‘along’ (illegal money-lender) came to their house with a threat. It’s seem that his father took a loan from this ‘along’ for RM 20,000 by using his mother's photocopied identification card and forged her signature. If the money cannot be paid, the ‘along’ team will kill his mother.

Aikon then took a bank loan to pay the “along”.

But after paying the bank RM15,000 of the loan he was involved in an accident. He was on medical leave for three months and the bank fired him. His two guarantors of the loan got to settle the balance of the loan amounting to RM 5,000 each.

His mother then passed away because of diabetese complications . His father was dumped by his stepmother.

Out of frustration, Aikon took drugs and he is now a drug addicted man.

I cried when I saw him recently. He asked for my help that is money.

I refused to give money, instead I took him to a restaurant, I advised him to surrender himself to the police so that he can be sent for rehabilitation.

CIKGUTANYA : He left me and never looked back.
